bullet Elected Platte County Nebraska Attorney & Coroner 1978, re-elected 1982 with landslide votes. Noted for delivering on a promise of a 10% budget cut and then holding the line through a period of 50% inflation. He accomplished that in part by refusing all salary raises for 8 years.

Principal designer of the Nebraska Cooperative Government, a unique multi-purpose political subdivision formed in 1989 by an Interlocal Agreement, now with 100 cities, counties, and villages as members statewide, one of the largest in its kind in the United States.

Founder and President of Community Lottery Systems, Inc. – Lotto Nebraska. Lotto Nebraska administers the charitable gaming activities of the Nebraska Cooperative Government. The Cooperative Government has raised approximately 40 million dollars for community betterment and tax relief in voter approved local government lotteries.  For example, currently the Cooperative Government is producing over $1,000 per day in tax relief and community betterment for the City of Columbus and its taxpayers, with an additional $3,000/day for smaller rural and agricultural communities.

Co-founder of Community Internet Systems, Inc., headquartered in Columbus and one of Nebraska’s first Internet companies, Community Internet / Megavision serves communities across rural Nebraska with high speed broadband and Internet. It was the first to introduce Internet to Clarkson, Cornlea, Columbus, Duncan, Howells, Humphrey, Leigh, Monroe, Platte Center, St. Bernard, and Tarnov. It lead the way to broadband to Columbus. He also co-founded Wire Free Nebraska a wireless Internet company that serves much of Platte and Colfax counties.  Community Internet provides complimentary high speed internet access to the Columbus and Humphrey libraries; St. Francis School, Platte and Colfax county courthouses, and city government in Columbus, Humphrey, Clarkson, and Howells which has saved the taxpayers a lot of money.  Over the years it has also provided complimentary service to the city government in Creston, Monroe, Leigh, Platte Center, Duncan, and Lindsay Holy Family.
